Marysville, Ohio - The Avalon Theatre, along with Impact60, has developed a new community experience creating cultural change one book at a time with A NEW CHAPTER; a book club with impact.
Whether you're a newcomer or a long-time resident, A NEW CHAPTER will foster a community of fellow readers, engaging in lively discussions, and participating in book-related activities to help build bonds and give a sense of belonging within our community.
Launching in September 2024, members are encouraged to register, and teams are encouraged to form, to tackle the book UNLEASHED by Richard C. Harwood of The Harwood Institute.
For only $25.00, members will receive a copy of the book, study guide, and a complimentary ticket to an author discussion and community question and answer session with Rich Harwood on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
In the inaugural book, UNLEASHED by Richard C. Harwood asks two important questions: How can we unleash the innate potential of people, institutions, and groups in communities to address our common challenges? And how can we do this by creating a civic culture in which people come together to shape their own lives and gain real hope?
In UNLEASHED, Richard C. Harwood draws on his 30 years of experience working with communities to answer these two critical questions. Americans yearn to create a society that reflects the best of us, the best in us. In UNLEASHED, Harwood helps us see how we can create a more equitable, fair, inclusive, and hopeful path forward.
During the reading period, this book club will get together for a midpoint mixer and community building session, discussions will also be held after each reading selection. The Avalon Theatre will host the author of each book for an author discussion and community question and answer session, or a speaker event inspired by the book and its topic.
After the initial book club, A NEW CHAPTER will continue bi-annually in 2025 featuring two additional “books with impact”. Registration for these unique community experiences will be available starting Thursday, November 14, 2024, after our first author session.
