Farmer Jason
Saturday, September 26, 2026 @ 2pm
Farmer Jason is the brainchild of rock music legend Jason Ringenberg of Jason and the
Scorchers. An Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award winner,
Ringenberg is one of the pioneers of the modern Americana and alt-country genres. In
2002 he created Farmer Jason to educate and entertain children about farm life and the
wonders of nature. The character is based on his own farming background and love of
the great outdoors. As Farmer Jason he has released 4 records and a DVD. He has
starred in the It’s a Farmer Jason video interstitial program which airs on several PBS
stations around the United States, earning 4 Emmy nominations and one Emmy win.
Farmer Jason’s records have won numerous awards, including the Parents’ Choice
Gold Award and the Los Angeles Times’ Children’s Record of the Year list.
Farmer Jason has performed several thousand concerts in venues ranging from rural
fairs on the Alaskan tundra to posh European performance halls. The highly acclaimed
live show involves sing-alongs, dancing, and discussions about nature appreciation,
ecology, and farm animals. Farmer Jason performs solo with just his acoustic guitar (no
backing track gimmickry), which adds to the spontaneous, high energy nature of his
concerts. Although aimed at children ages 2 to 8, everyone is invited to get involved,
and they do! Farmer Jason draws his musical influences from folk, country, and rock ‘n’
roll with a dash of DIY punk rock. Grab a pitchfork, or your guitar, and climb aboard the
tractor!

Laugh Along Comedy Series presents…
Justin Wood
Saturday, October 17, 2026 @ 7pm
Comedian and actor Justin Wood will return to Union County on Saturday, October 17th for a special night of stand up comedy at The Avalon Theatre in Marysville. The performance marks Wood’s first show in Union County since 2017.
Still proudly referring to himself as “Unionville Center for Life” while living in Santa Monica,
California, the Fairbanks High School alumni has built a career as a comedian, actor, and
Army veteran. Although acting has become an exciting new chapter, stand up comedy has
always been the core of Wood’s entertainment journey.
An admitted class clown who unfortunately discovered he loved making people laugh at far
too young of an age, Wood would also like to offer a sincere apology to any teacher or
Fairbanks alumni who ever had to share a classroom with him.
The hometown show comes after a successful month for Wood’s acting career. Last month,
he appeared in both the Taye Diggs thriller ”Stepfather” and the independent feature film
“Angeleno”. “Stepfather” delivered record breaking debut numbers on Tubi, becoming the
most streamed movie across all platforms during its opening weekend and the third most
streamed movie across all platforms during its opening week. The film also marked Wood’s
dramatic acting debut.
“Angeleno” went on to receive an Honorable Mention at the Dances With Films Festival in
Hollywood, where Wood showcased his comedic improv skills in a supporting role, giving
audiences a look at the range he hopes to continue bringing to both comedy and acting.
After serving a 15 month tour in Iraq with the United States Army, Wood began performing
stand up comedy at open mics at the Columbus Funny Bone before moving to Los Angeles in
2011. Since then, he has opened for Bill Burr at the historic Hollywood American Legion
Theater and the late Louie Anderson at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. Following his
military service, he has also performed for service members through USO and Armed Forces
Entertainment shows.
After stepping away from comedy to focus on his mental health, Wood returned to the stage
in 2026 and continues to openly discuss anxiety through both comedy and public
appearances.

The Final Act: An Avalon Haunting
Saturday, October 24, 2026 – 6:30pm - 10pm
THE FINAL ACT transforms Marysville’s historic Avalon Theatre into an immersive, multi-sensory psychological nightmare where you become the helpless star of a live-action horror film. Your descent begins the moment you step up to the antique ticket booth, immediately stripping away the safety of the modern world. Inside, the grand theatre has morphed into a twisted labyrinth of shifting walls, blinding lights, and forgotten 1920s spaces where the boundary between cinematic fiction and reality is violently erased. You will be forced to navigate pitch-black corridors, claustrophobic transitions, and the auditorium itself—all while being stalked by the restless, vengeful spirits of old Hollywood who are desperate to make you a permanent part of their audience before the final credits roll.

This Broadway adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 1843 festive novella, tells the tale of the curmudgeonly Ebenezer Scrooge. A prosperous businessman, he believes that personal wealth and heartless financial tactics are much more valuable than the friendship, happiness, and comfort of those around him. He treats his employee, Bob Cratchit, and his family with the same disdain and coldness that he shows everyone else. Scrooge’s miserable nature comes to a crescendo during the Christmas period--”Bah! Humbug!”
However, this Christmas, he is forced to come face to face with his selfish ways when he is confronted by three ghosts on Christmas Eve: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future. In the course of one night, Scrooge is forced to recognize his faults and gains the chance to make amends. He greets the dawning Christmas morning with an unusually cheerful, “Happy Christmas” and finally reconnects with those that mean the most to him.

Grab a pitchfork, or your guitar, and climb aboard the
tractor!

A Piece of My Heart
Friday, November 13, 2026 @ 7pm
Saturday, November 14, 2026 @ 2pm & 7pm
Sunday, November 15, 2026 @ 2pm
The true story of six courageous American women sent to Vietnam and their struggle to make sense of a war that irrevocably changed them. Based on the author's interviews with real-life veterans, including those profiled in a book of the same name by Keith Walker, the play pinpoints significant moments in each woman's journey.
After the war, the women return to civilian life and must reconcile their need to serve humanity with the horrors they experienced during war. It is a piece about transcendence that deals with the themes of service, heroism, life, death, trauma, forgiveness, sacrifice, despair, depression, rejection, friendship and rebirth. A Piece of My Heart is a celebration of the women who served and sacrificed in Vietnam, the unsung heroes often overlooked in history.

This Broadway adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 1843 festive novella, tells the tale of the curmudgeonly Ebenezer Scrooge.
